Meet The Paralegal Writer
Jackie Van Dyke,
I’m Jackie, Certified Paralegal, university professor, entrepreneur and legal writing coach.
When I started The Paralegal Writer, I knew I wanted to create courses for paralegals like myself. I have been in your very shoes, as a student, struggling to create the balance between being a working mother and spending time on my studies.
I understand the difficulties of raising a family and the added pressure of studying for a course. You are most likely asking yourself when you’ll find the time to do the work. This is why I’ve created the courses in the way that I have, so there is space for self-learning at your own pace but also the opportunity to come together as a community to support one another and share success.
I am passionate about professional development for all paralegals and paralegal students. I promise to be engaged in your course study and to answer your questions based on my 28-plus years as a paralegal and educator
I got my masters in paralegal studies at The George Washington University and at graduation I was asked to become part of the faculty. I have years of experience as a professor of paralegal studies, teaching Advanced Legal Writing and American Jurisprudence at The George Washington University and Legal Research at the University of San Diego School of Law. I have also published numerous expert articles for the Paralegals Connect Quarterly Magazine; the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA), Inc., National Paralegal Reporter magazine; the National Capital Area Paralegal Association (NCAPA) OnPoint magazine; and NALA® The Paralegal Association Facts & Findings quarterly journal.
I give so much to my students and genuinely care about their success. I’m proof that paralegal students can go on to follow their passions and define their futures.
After all, knowledge is power and your knowledge begins now.
